God’s Call to Women

Instruments of Peace

ShelterEach man will be like a shelter from the wind, and a refuge from the storm, like streams of water in the desert and the shadow of a great rock in a thirsty land. Isaiah 32:2

Father, your Word restores my peace and brings refreshment to my soul. (Psalm 23:3) You remind me that evil is destroyed and good is lifted high in your time and place. (Psalm 92:9-10) It is in our worship that we find rest to take us through the difficult waiting period. It is in Jesus that we find the patience and perseverance to remain strong and filled with hope.

As women of faith we are called to hope every day. We have the responsibility to be light bearers in a world that is dark and messy. Today we are living in such a place. Our husbands have concerns and our children have questions. Often, we are the hand that steadies the ship in the family. We are to remain calm and remember what the Lord has called us to do: Speak truth into the lives of our loved ones; Give God praise and thanks for it is He who is in complete control. Steve Estes states “God permits what He hates to accomplish that which He loves.” It comforts me to know that God’s agenda is always for our best. He is at work to bring about goodness and light in His way and in His time. It is up to us to keep steady!

Thank you, Father, for opening my eyes to what I needed to read this morning. How faithful you are to bring my heart and my mind to a place of comfort and encouragement. It’s crucial during these times to walk by faith, and it is a privilege to have conversation with my family about the hope and joy that is set before us.

I pray that my family will be a strengthened by my peace and know where my security comes from; it is from You, Father, and only You!

Today, I will love and live in your embrace and in hopeful expectation for the good and blessed days to come. Will you join me in this place and time?
